UN insists on a greater commitment to climate change.

United Nations, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) In an increasingly worrying context about climate change and devastating aftermaths, the World Climate Day (WCD) is today the best opportunity to draw attention to these issues. This date, declared in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 1992, seeks to raise awareness and sensitize people globally. Specialists warned that in recent decades there have been significant climatic variations as a result of dramatic industrial development including the greenhouse effect, global warming, environmental pollution, overexploitation of natural resources and ozone layer depletion, which negatively affects the natural cycles of the Earth.
At the same time, it was said that climate is a key element for life, for example such as agriculture, hunting and fishing. Against this background, some experts insisted on the need for governments to implement specific actions such as the approval and application of legal instruments to protect the environment, to invest in technologies to capture C02 and to promote the use of alternative sources of energy: wind and solar.
